Send group messages to contacts saved in your address book on the SMS Web Application with a single chat instruction from GTalk. This convenient mode of sending SMS using a GTalk messenger allows you to use a familiar application and not having to open a different screen to send SMS. In a high pressure job role, where every second matters, you could send SMS via GTalk with a single click as opposed to using a application which would consume more time.

Send a chat message in the simple format shown below and send it from your registered GTalk ID (registered at SMS ConneXion) to smsconnexion@gmail.com:

1. To send SMS to a group created in the web application send a chat message in the following format POST [GroupName] [Message]
E.g. POST Family Wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. – John Smith.

2. To send SMS to all contacts in the web application address book send a chat message in the following format POST ALL [Message]
E.g. POST ALL Wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. – Celusion Technologies

Note:
1. The group name cannot contain special characters and spaces.
2. The length of the SMS exceeds 160 characters it will be sent as a long SMS.

Automatic Registration
Getting started with using SMS via GTalk is quick and only a few steps. You can register one or more GTalk usernames on the configuration screen for the SMS via GTalk Xapp. This screen is available when you are logged in to your SMS Web Application under the Xapps section. Once you have registered your GTalk username, you need to add the SMS ConneXion GTalk username to your contact list in the GTalk messenger. The contact request is automatically accepted from usernames that have been registered on the SMS via GTalk Xapp.

Send Group SMS
Once you are logged in to GTalk, you only need to send an instruction e.g. POST Candidates Walk in interview for software geeks in the field of telecom at Hyatt, Mumbai on 23 May @ 10:00. The message is immediately send to all contacts in the group ‘Candidates’ in your SMS Web Application Address Book and you will receive an acknowledgement in your chat window. You can use either the web based GTalk messenger or the desktop messenger to send this instruction.

Send SMS to all in Address Book
You can send SMS to all contacts saved in your SMS Web Application Address Book by sending a single chat instruction. e.g. POST ALL Wish you a very Happy New Year. The message is immediately send to all contacts in the Address Book and you will receive an acknowledgement in your chat window. You can use either the web based GTalk messenger or the desktop messenger to send this instruction.
